Discover the Premier Fishing Adventure with Fisherman’s Dream Charters in Zeballos, BC. Nestled in the remote and picturesque northern Vancouver Island, Zeballos is not only a paradise for anglers but also a sanctuary for wildlife enthusiasts. As a village steeped in a rich fishing heritage and encircled by natural beauty, Zeballos offers a tranquil retreat within the traditional territory of the Ehattesaht First Nation.
Zeballos became a notable gold rush town in the 1930s, attracting thousands of prospectors and reaching a peak population of over 5,000. This boom period was short-lived, however, as the onset of World War II saw many of its inhabitants leave to serve in the war, and by the 1950s, the gold mining had ceased due to economic infeasibility. The town then transitioned to logging, which has sustained it for many years.
Location
Zeballos is a deep-sea port surrounded by rugged mountains and forests, located on the Zeballos River delta, at the end of Zeballos Inlet within the territory of the Ehattesaht Chinehkint First Nation. It is accessible from Highway 19, about a two and half hour drive north of Campbell River. Zeballos’ position relative to nearby Nootka Sound and Kyuquot Sound make it a popular “jump-off” point for tourists and anglers.
